The pants have a waist that cinches up to fit the smallest waist or can fit up to a 42" waist. The total length of the pants is 38" and the inseam is 24". The jacket has a 24" torso length and measures 46" across to fit over clothing. The neck opening is 8". It is a 4 piece set, Jacket, Pant, Rifle Rag and Sniper Veil. I think what one reviewer calls "primitive" really means that this coat is for the most part unlined. The sleeves are unlined, and only a small section of the body - to just below the shoulder blades - is lined. So about 90 percent of this coat is unlined.
What is lined looks like it is waxed cotton and about 100 years old. So it's pretty stiff, to say the least. I immediately had the lining replaced - which cost me about $30. It was well worth it. The tailor who relined the coat was impressed with the quality of the wool. And the color caught the attention of everyone who saw me walk the coat into and out of the tailor shop. It really catches your eye.
The fit, on me, is good. I'll call it a "tailored" fit. I'm 5-foot 11 inches and 205 pounds. The extra large easily fits me, and "hugs" me across my shoulders. Again, pretty much a tailored fit - similar to how a European suit would fit.
Now, just waiting on some cooler weather.

-Received the coat, very nice wool. XL fits like it was tailored for me (I am 6,2 / 195lbs). The wool is thick, warm, and has a sexy blue color. Has a light surplus smell and a slight itch to the forearms which is easily remedied by wearing an undershirt. Thanks to Swiss Link I found an affordable great coat with high quality wool.

Very fast shipping. Some sweets in the box (nice, thanks). Lovely somewhat "primitive " looking coat. It looks like brand-new but I'll have it dry cleaned because of the long storage. It fits perfectly (I'm 1'85 m. tall and weight 85 Kg. Ordered an XL).

Arrived quickly, and well protected by the box. Even had some sweets in there(new haha). Only down side, is that I have a slightly wider chest than my swiss brethren on a century ago. I will try to hand this over to one of my brothers and see if it fits them.

Shipping was very fast, ordered this and one other coat. Both look as though they have been stored for some time, there was no odor or stains, the blue is really quite nice. All the buttons were where they are supposed to be. Qaulity is similar to my East German overcoat from the 60's. Fit is always a bit of a gamble when ordering coats online, especially foreign military. I am 5'11 and 160lbs and the medium was pretty close. Sleaves are a tiny bit short, and wide, and the coat itself is wide, but it is made it be worn over everything else, I may pull it in a little, I may just keep it as it is. Common sense says get it dry cleaned when you recieve it.
