Originally developed for the Swiss military, the KS90 Gen I Combat Boots were designed for demanding use in harsh terrain.
Their defining feature is the hybrid sole system: a licensed Vibram outer tread delivers exceptional grip on rock, mud, and snow, while the contoured, shock-absorbing core reduces fatigue over long distances. The boots also incorporate a high-performance ankle support system providing stability under heavy loads without compromising comfort.
Constructed from thick, full-grain leather, the uppers are reinforced with a high-cut, gusseted tongue and a protective toe cap. When properly conditioned, the leather offers excellent resistance to water and cold, making these boots ideal for wet or wintry conditions.
These Gen I models, produced in the late 1990s to early 2010s are characterized by the construction of the sole, which has several rubber layers.
Though issued, the boots remain in excellent structural condition. You may notice minor scuffs or surface dryness from storage—easily remedied with a quick clean and polish. Some pairs may have minor cuts on the rubber sidewall, which are mostly cosmetic and are unlikely to affect the overall structural integrity.
