Dutch Woodland DPM MOLLE Binocular Pouch | Issued
This is the Dutch Military Woodland DPM MOLLE Binocular Pouch, a modernized version of the previous pouch designed specifically for the MOLLE/PALS attachment system.
The Basics
- Attachment: Features MOLLE straps on the back, allowing it to be secured to modern tactical vests, plate carriers, or backpacks. This is a significant upgrade over the older metal ALICE clips.
- Material: Constructed from high-strength, polyurethane-coated Cordura nylon. It is water-resistant and designed for high-abrasion environments.
- Dimensions: Approximately 6.7" H x 4.5" W x 2.4" D (17 x 11.5 x 6 cm). It is slightly deeper and more rectangular than the older ALICE version.
- Closure: Uses a heavy-duty plastic quick-release buckle. Most versions also include an internal "snow skirt" or drawstring collar to seal the contents from dust, dirt, and moisture.
What to Expect
- Optics Protection: The pouch is often lightly padded or features a stiffened liner to protect sensitive equipment like the Dutch Army's "LION" binoculars or night vision optics.
- Versatility: Because of its shape and secure closure, it is a favorite among hikers and bushcrafters as a "General Purpose" (GP) pouch. It is the perfect size for:
- Compact binoculars or rangefinders.
- A standard 1-quart canteen (it fits snugly).
- A small cook set or several MRE components.
- A large individual first aid kit (IFAK).
- Condition: As an "Issued" surplus item, it will show typical signs of field use such as minor fading of the DPM pattern, light scuffs on the buckle, or a soldier's name written on the tag.
Quick Tip: The "Woodland DPM" pattern is very similar to the British pattern but generally features darker, richer tones, making it blend exceptionally well in dense, green forests.
