The condition varies and will always be noted in the product description. "New Old Stock" or "Unissued" items were never used by a soldier and are in new condition, though they may show signs of long-term storage. "Used" or "Issued" items have been in the field and will show authentic signs of wear, which can include fading, small professional repairs, or markings, all of which contribute to the item's unique history.

Military surplus sizing can be complex, as it differs by country of origin and era. We strongly recommend that you disregard the original tag size and instead refer to the specific measurements and sizing guides provided in our product descriptions. Measuring a similar piece of clothing you own that fits well is a great way to ensure you select the correct size.

The photos on our site are representative of the item you will receive, but likely not the exact one. Due to the nature of surplus, each piece has a unique story, and minor variations in color, wear, and markings are to be expected. This individuality is a cherished aspect of owning a piece of history.  

That classic "surplus smell" is very common and is usually a result of decades of warehouse storage, sometimes with preservatives used to protect the materials. This is a normal characteristic of authentic surplus and the smell will typically fade after airing the item out for a few days or after its first proper cleaning.

Military surplus is, by definition, a limited commodity. Once a specific batch of items is sold, it can be very difficult—and sometimes impossible—to acquire more of the exact same product. If you see something you love, we recommend purchasing it, as we cannot guarantee it will be available again.
